Privacy Policy

This is the boring page. It’s still important.

Last updated: October 3, 2026

This website is run by Dave Tarnowski, creator of Disappointing Affirmations. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site or sign up for updates, and what happens to it.

What gets collected

Things you give me. If you sign up for the newsletter or text alerts, I collect your email address and, if you choose, your phone number. If you send a message through the site, I get whatever you put in it.

Things collected automatically. Like most websites, this one uses cookies and similar tools to understand how people use it, such as which pages get visited and what kind of device you’re on. This site is hosted on Squarespace, which collects this information on my behalf.

How it’s used

To send you the newsletter, new product announcements, and text alerts you signed up for. To understand what’s working on the site. That’s about it. I don’t sell your personal information.

Email and text messages

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. If you sign up for text alerts, reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Message and data rates may apply.

Links to other sites

This site links to stores like Amazon, Bookshop, Barnes & Noble, and independent bookstores. When you click those links, you’re on their site and their privacy policies apply. Some of those links may be affiliate links, which means a small commission may be earned if you buy something, at no extra cost to you.

Your choices

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information is held about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. To make a request, reach out through the Contact page.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
